Conval

Valves

http://www.conval.com
In 1962, Mr. Chester Siver completed designs for a revolutionary line of high pressure forged steel valves. Hamilton Standard, division of United Technology, was asked to use their then new Electron Beam Welding technology for joining of parts into valves for subassemblies. Hamilton Standard became intrigued with the valve as an ideal application of the Electron Beam Welding technique and negotiated a contract for rights to manufacture and sell the valve and for Mr. Siver to serve as the manager of the valve project. The date was August 8, 1962.

The first CLAMPSEAL® valves were marketed by Hamilton Standard in 1964. The growing demand for aerospace products forced Hamilton Standard into a decision to abandon its industrial products projects and CLAMPSEAL® valve production ceased in April of 1965. One year later under the term

s of their contract all rights to the valve reverted to Mr. Siver.

Conval was incorporated in 1967 in Somers, Connecticut and has never looked back. From very modest sales in the early years, the company was able, nevertheless, to always show growth. It has steadily expanded its product line to where it now includes: Y, Angle, and T-pattem Globe valves and Gate valves in 900 - 4500 lbs. series and 1/2" - 4" sizes; Whisperjets; Quadflow; Multiple Orifice Blowdown valves; Cryogenic and Bellows Seal valves. Today Conval is the premier manufacturer of high quality, high pressure forged steel valves in the world. Significant areas of growth for Conval include sales in Southeast Asia and developing third world countries.

The story of Conval is one of commitment to producing valves of superior design, out of superior materials and unsurpassed workmanship. The company is a local success story for a group of dedicated New England Yankees who don't believe that they can't compete in today's market.

The CLAMPSEAL® valve represents the proverbial better mouse trap. Ingeniously simple, the basic valve is comprised of only nine components. The valves are lightweight and at the same time incredibly tough and durable. Perhaps most significant of many advantages, the CLAMPSEAL® valve is much easier to repair than anything else on the market. The bad old days of use it up and throw it out have been replaced with a desire for quality, renewability and longevity. Low first cost is not as important as low cost over the serviceable life of valves. Conval has benefited from this change in attitude and is still growing.

The future holds much promise. Conval is developing new products to meet the challenging conditions imposed by industry. Always a problem solver, Mr. Siver still devotes significant time to Conval, to our customers and to new products.

HBE Engineering

Valves

http://www.hbe-engineering.com/
Integrating Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Automation Since 1984

HBE Engineering, Inc. provides automatic recirculation valves for centrifugal pump minimum flow protection. Valve sizes range from 150 lb to 2500 lb ANSI rated for 1 inch to 30 inch inlet/outlet sizes. These valves are capable of handling main flow demands up to 40,000 gpm.

Automatic recirculation valves from HBE provide effective centrifugal pump protection from serious damage which can result from temperature rise or instability if operated below the required minimum flow.

In addition the HBE automatic recirculation valves are highly cost effective by combining the multiple functions of main flow check valve, flow sensing, minimum flow control, pressure reduction, and pulsation dampening into a single valve body.

Media Valve

Valves

http://mediavalve.com/
The Mosites Butterfly Valve... was first manufactured in 1961 as part of a product line of corrosion/erosion-resistant rubber products made by Mosites Rubber Company of Fort Worth, Texas. Incorporated in 1968 as Media Valve Company, they have a design concept of bonded elastomeric lined surfaces affords the end user an economical means of complete isolation of flow stream contaminants. Thier close association with Mosites Rubber Company assures them of constant access to the highest quality elastomeric compounds. Only foundry castings, miscellaneous steel parts and automation devices are supplied by outside vendors. All of the elastomeric compounds used by Media Valve Company are custom blended and compounded at they're own facilities in Fort Worth.

A large inventory of raw body castings is maintained for immediate production. Thier air conditioned manufacturing facility houses all of the required machining and molding equipment. In strict accordance with the highest quality standards, every Mosites Butterfly Valve is subjected to applicable hydrostatic seat seal and shell test requirements.

With immediate access to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and close proximity to the Port of Houston, Media Valve Company freight traffic experts work closely with all major air and ocean freight forwarders.

Vibro-Meter

Fire Detectors

http://www.vibro-meter.ch/industrial/detector.html
Omniguard® ... First in Flame Detection

The value of early fire detection is immeasurable in the protection of human life and valuable property. Omniguard® flame detectors are known throughout the world for their outstanding quality and reliability in a wide variety of high risk fire protection applications. Discrimination between a true fire and a "false alarm" event is also critical for efficient and cost effective protection management. That is why Omniguard® flame detectors are widely used in aircraft hangars, fuel transfer stations, natural gas compressor stations, and petrochemical storage facilities.

Vibro-Meter, Inc. manufactures several families of optical sensing devices. Over 75 years of optical sensing experience and expertise has allowed us to pioneer many new technologies that have set the standards for the industry.

Using UV or IR sensors, or a combination of both, we are able to sense and notify the user of various conditions and parameters of flame.

Our Omniguard® line of UV and UV/IR flame detectors (Models 660, 860, and 860 Multi-Spectrum) are used to notify when a potentially

dangerous fire (an "unfriendly fire") has started. All detectors are explosion-proof devices, and are certified for use in hazardous area applications. Vibro-Meter, Inc. pioneered both the first UV and the first UV/IR detectors, and continue to lead the industry with superior performance, features, and quality

All Omniguard® Detectors provide:

five year warranty on the UV and IR sensors used in our flame detectors
three year total warranty against component or manufacturing defects
design, engineering, and manufacture exclusively by Vibro-Meter, Inc.

We recently introduced our new Fuel Contamination DetectorTM (Model 970), which is based on IR sensors. This new detector is able to both monitor the presence of flame, and also identify and quantify the presence of contaminates in the fuel being burned. This is especially important to turbine manufacturers and users.
